Q: How does Supercooler
work?
A: Supercooler
extracts wasted thermal
energy from
the air conditioner (A/C)
using our exclusive "ThermalJacket".
Our heavy duty "ColdPump" circulates coolant
through our patented
closed-circuit system.
This coolant then flows
through our Supercooler
"IceBox", delivering
chilled air to the engine. See the
Technology page for
more details.
Q: How much does Supercooler
cost?
A: Our regular
prices vary depending on
vehicle type and
Supercooler model.
We are currently running
a
Show Special price
of $699 plus tax for
many vehicles. See
our
Products page for
details.
Q: Will having
Supercooler installed on my
vehicle affect the warranty?
A: The Magnuson-Moss
Warranty Act, passed by
Congress and enacted in
1975, is the federal
statute that governs
warranties on consumer
products. As to
aftermarket products or
other conditions
required in a warranted
product, the Act states:
(c) Prohibition on
conditions for written
or implied warranty;
waiver by Commission
No warrantor of a
consumer product may
condition his written or
implied warranty of such
product on the
consumer’s using, in
connection with such
product, any article or
service (other than
article or service
provided without charge
under the terms of the
warranty) which is
identified by brand,
trade, or corporate
name; except that the
prohibition of this
subsection may be waived
by the Commission if—
(1) the warrantor
satisfies the Commission
that the warranted
product will function
properly only if the
article or service so
identified is used in
connection with the
warranted product, and
(2) the Commission finds
that such a waiver is in
the public interest.
We’ve been advised by at
least one major
auto dealer Service Manager that
adding a Supercooler
would not void the
warranty, unless the
Supercooler directly
damaged a warranted
part.
As our company began,
we’ve taken great care
to design our
Supercoolers in order to
not harm any existing
engine or A/C
components. The air is
cooled without
introducing additives,
flammable liquids,
gases, or other foreign
elements into your
engine. Please check
with your local
dealership for specific
vehicle warranty
information. We will be
happy to discuss
Supercooler operation
with your warranty
provider.
Q: Does the A/C have to
be on in order to use
Supercooler?
A:
The Supercooler
Polar Wind models
extract wasted thermal
energy from
the vehicle air conditioner.
While having you A/C
running is not required
to receive benefits from
Supercooler, the best
MPG will be achieved
with the A/C turned on.
The two layers of
thermal insulation,
along with the Green air
filter included in the
system, deliver a
significant mileage
improvement.
Our new
and innovative Supercooler Arctic
Electron model
uses a self-generating energy
source and does not
depend on the vehicle
A/C to deliver benefits.
Watch our Products page
for news on this model.
Q: Will Supercooler
work with an existing "Cold
Air" or High Performance Air
Intake Kit?
A: Yes,
Supercooler complements
most varieties of "Cold
Air" and high
performance air intake kits, including
K&N,
Injen Technology,
AirAid and others.
The cold air kit
supplies a greater
volume of air and
Supercooler cools that
air to pack a double
punch of performance and
fuel economy. We
can provide a cold air
kit from one of the
three vendors mentioned
in the list above, and
we will be happy to
install the complete
package in your vehicle.
Q: Do you offer a
warranty for the product?
A: Yes our product is
backed by a one-year
warranty on all Supercooler parts we
supply.
Q: Can I improve my
gas mileage beyond the
benefit that Supercooler
delivers?
A: Yes,
see the U.S. Department
of Energy web site for
gas mileage tips:
http://fueleconomy.gov/feg/drive.shtml
Q: Do you have special
programs for
government/educational
institutions?
A: Yes.
We provide your organization
with one or more devices at
no initial out of pocket
cost on a trial basis. Once
you are satisfied with the
performance of Supercooler,
we then install the product
or coordinate with your
facility to have the device
installed on additional
vehicles with a portion of
the funds you are saving
from fuel efficiency you are
experiencing and would have
spent anyway without
Supercooler.
Please contact us for
additional information on
our various fleet
programs.
Q: Will your product
work on my particular
vehicle make and model?
A: Supercooler components
are custom made depending on
measurements from your
vehicle type. We are
constantly developing
new kits for different
models. See our
Products page for
our supported vehicles.
If you do not find your
vehicle, please contact
us to see if your
vehicle is in our
development schedule.
Q: What about access
for maintenance, what has to
be done to gain access to
serviceable parts on my
engine after a Supercooler
install?
A: We use
industrial-quality
“quick-disconnect” fittings
for our fluid lines. These
fittings hold in the fluid
when disconnected to allow
ease of maintenance.
Q: How can I get your
product?
A:
We currently offer
installation in the
greater Pensacola,
Florida area. Please visit our
Contacts page
for location and contact information.
Q:
How does one become a
Supercooler reseller or
distributor?
A Supercooler
distributorship is an
exciting opportunity,
offering expanded
service and revenue
opportunities for you
and improved performance
and MPG for your
customers. If you
would like to be
considered for
distributorship, we
offer a training and
certification program.
We can also explain our
minimum shop
requirements and standards.
We invite you to call or
email us
for details,
850-444-9454 or
sales@supercooler.us.
Q: Can the Supercooler
be transferred to another
vehicle?
A:
In certain restricted
cases many of the parts
can be reused, except
for the insulation.
First, we require that the target
vehicle is the same
brand and utilizes the
same intake air path as
the original vehicle.
For instance,
transferring a
Supercooler from a 2004
Chevy 1500 with 5.3
liter engine to a 2008
Chevy 2500 with 5.3
liter engine may work
fine; however,
transferring to a 4.8
liter engine may not
work. Also, we could
not transfer a
Supercooler from a Chevy
truck to a Ford or Dodge
truck because there are
too many differences in
the air path. In
any case, the insulation
would need to be freshly
applied, and a certified
Supercooler installer
should validate and perform the
entire removal and
reinstallation.
Q: I have a turbo
diesel vehicle. How will your
Supercooler impact the turbo
and intercooler operation?
A: Our Supercooler
introduces cooler air into a
turbo diesel after the
intercooler and before it
enters your engine. That
way it doesn't interfere
with your turbo/intercooler
process. Intercoolers,
at best, will reduce the
temperature of the air
leaving the turbocharger
(TT) to ½ the difference
between the TT and
cooler inlet air
temperature. For
example, TT is often
300° F. If inlet air is
80° F, then the
difference is 220° F and
the temperature of air
going into the engine
without Supercooler is
190° F.
Supercooler can
potentially reduce that
temperature another 20°
F.
Q: If your product
works by cooling the
temperature, how come I
don’t see increased fuel
economy during the winter
months?
A:
In reality, you probably
do see a slight increase
in MPG. However, during cold weather, the
temperature inside your
engine compartment is still
very high. Therefore, even
though there may be cool air
coming into your vehicle's
engine compartment, it is
quickly heated by exposure
to the hot engine
components. For that
reason, while you may see
some nominal increase in gas
mileage and performance when
operating your vehicle in
cooler ambient air
temperature, you will not
achieve the same benefits
delivered by the Supercooler
systems. The Supercooler
systems take the air in your
engine compartment and cool
it immediately before it
goes into your vehicle's
combustion chamber.
